Talk, Touch, and Listen™
Therapeutic Cultural Routines to Build Family Relationships
The Place for Natural Connections offers community-based programs for parents and caregivers that focus on Talk, Touch & Listen (TT<M) during the 24-hour cycle of everyday childcare routines.
This approach promotes rich interaction during hair combing, mealtime, bath time and Storytime routines that benefit children’s development and well-being. The programs promote three parenting behaviors: radical listening, gentle physical touch, and lively, call-and-response musical style talk for conversations between parents and their children.
The groups are co-facilitated by agency partners and a community parent certified as TT&L™ Level I trainers. Experiential learning methods make abstract topics concrete and engaging in a safe, supportive environment where experimentation, vulnerability, and curiosity are encouraged.
